How do I plan a Wedding? Where do I start?
1. Choose a date - Make sure you check first if it is Grand Final Day or clashes with any major sporting or other event
2. Choose a time - earlier (between 2pm and 3pm) is good for a winter wedding so that if the ceremony is outside, it is over before it gets too cold or dark
                                - later (between 4pm and 5pm) if it is summer so that the ceremony is happening in a cooler part of the day
                                - check sunrise/sunset times
3. Select a wedding ceremony location - make inquiries to ensure the ceremony will not be taking place in the Brisbane Botanic Gardens the same time as a rock band is playing; or your ceremony is at Southbank on the same night as Riverfire. Parking can be at a premium and traffic disruptions and road closures can cause long delays for you and your guests. If your wedding is near the water, check tide times so you have waves in your background and not mud flats.
4. Select a reception venue - many couples like to have the ceremony and the reception at the one venue. This certainly makes it convenient for your guests as many will get a taxi to and from if they do not have to travel in between
5. Choose your celebrant - don't rely simply on price.  The most expensive is not the best and the cheapest is not the worst. Your marriage celebrant should be able to provide a firm quote and be able to particularise inclusions/exclusions.  As a general rule, the further the celebrant has to travel from their home base, the more costly it becomes. My bookings are predominately in the Brisbane, Ipswich and Logan areas as well as on the Gold Coast.
6. Book your photographer - again price should not be the deciding factor
Once those major bookings are made, the rest will follow with dresses; suits; flowers; cake; transport; hair; makeup; jewellery etc.
