Marriage Celebrant Costs

Marriage Celebrant Costs

What does a Marriage Celebrant Cost?

As a Marriage Celebrant many couples often ask me for a price and enquire as to what the quote I provide includes. Couples sometimes think a fee is too expensive when the ceremony only takes twenty minutes to perform!  But there are a number of legal and other matters that I must attend to in preparation for your big day. My standard fee for your wedding includes  -

  • The initial meeting and interview about your ceremony, ideas and dreams to ensure I create exactly what you want
  • All communication and advice necessary to prepare the ceremony and ensure you are ready for your big day
  • Complete consultation with you on the presentation and content of the ceremony
  • An email booklet which contains samples of ceremonies, poems, verses and readings and any extra time spent on sourcing particular material for you.
  • Travel time and costs to and from the ceremony location (within 50klm: greater Brisbane, Logan, Bayside) – arriving more than 30mins before the ceremony so that I am on hand for any last minute preparations
  • Any parking or other costs associated with your ceremony
  • A professional,  experienced and qualified authorised marriage celebrant
  • A suitable standard of dress that matches with the ceremony theme and colours
  • Liaising with ceremony participants to ensure the smooth running of the ceremony on the day e.g. venue coordinators, musicians, photographers etc.
  • A copy of the ceremony for you to keep
  • All stationery used to perform a wedding ceremony is purchased by the celebrant. You will receive a beautiful presentation certificate which is legal proof of marriage
  • A warm and friendly wedding celebrant who considers it an honour to perform your ceremony and be a part of your special day
  • A professional celebrant who shows respect and consideration for your family and friends
  • Attend to all official paperwork and lodgement of documents following your ceremony with the Registrar, Births, Deaths & Marriages
  • Provide a beautiful pen to sign the marriage documents
  • Provide assistance and the required documentation to enable you to apply for a certified copy of your marriage certificate following the ceremony
  • Attend yearly compulsory training as directed by the Attorney-General’s Department Canberra to maintain registration and competency
  • Maintain registration and memberships to Associations to keep abreast of new trends and changes to legislation
  • The cost of a registry office marriage ceremony from 1 July 2023 is currently $384.10 weekdays; $499.40 on Saturdays and $658.50 for an evening wedding on a Friday or Saturday night. PLEASE NOTE, these are not my prices but provide a comparison between having a celebrant at a time and place convenient to you or getting married in the Registry Office in the city.  Each marriage celebrant sets their own fees and they can vary accordingly.
  • For a small additional cost, as your authorised marriage celebrant performing weddings in Brisbane, Logan, or Redlands, I can perform your ceremony anywhere, anytime and on any day of the week that suits you and your guests
  • Provide 24/7 support, assistance, advice and guidance on any aspect of your big day
